FLYING IN TO NORTH WEALD
The airfield will be open from 09.00 for visiting aeroplanes to fly into The Air-Britain Fly-In.
The main runway 02/20 will be in use throughout the event. Due to the location of the exhibition and the aircraft parking areas, runway 13/31 will not be in use. The airfield operating hours are 09.00-19.00. Airfield details are as published in Pooleys or Jeppesen guides. There are no landing fees throughout the weekend.
The event is PPR, so if you are planning to fly in it is imperative that you telephone +44(0)1992-524510 (The Squadron/North Weald Flying Services) in advance for arrival instructions and to arrange your slot timings.
No PPR bookings are required for Friday arrivals, which are particularly welcomed.
Unfortunately non-radio aircraft are not allowed to land at North Weald without prior arrangements being made. If you wish to bring a non-radio aircraft to the event please either arrange for a buddy radio enabled aircraft to accompany you or contact the Squadron number above and efforts will be made to find a "buddy", radio-equipped aircraft to support your arrival.
For safety reasons pilots must check in upon arrival at the Pilot’s Check-In Tent, which will be marked with a large yellow and black "C" Board. Departure instructions will be advised by the booking in tent on arrival. All aircraft arrivals must follow the air-traffic control reporting instructions and please remain clear of the Stansted Control Zone, unless permission is obtained. (An initial radio call to Essex Radar on 120.625 if you plan to enter the Stansted Control zone of for flight information)
Basic camping facilities are available on the airfield overnight. However, please note that there are no showers but toilet and wash rooms are available in The Squadron building.
Please see the separate tab on the left, or below, for HOTEL DETAILS.
